Description

The Iswa is a counter stool built on a black iron frame, with a padded seat in tanned goat leather and an open cane back panel set into a mango wood surround. The back panel is a landscape rectangle with rounded corners, woven in the hexagonal pattern that leaves the cane open enough to see through. The seat is a rounded square pad with the leather drawn over it and fixed underneath, and it carries its grain and creasing on the surface. A square iron footrest runs round all four legs near the floor.

The seat sits at 69cm, which is counter height rather than bar height, and the stool stands 107cm to the top of the back and 52cm front to back. Pushed in under an overhang, the cane panel and its wood surround are the part left showing above the worktop.

The frame is iron in an aged black, the seat is tanned goat leather and the back is cane held in a mango wood surround. The leather is tanned rather than coated, so it keeps its grain. The Iswa range runs to three counter stools, in tan, rich green and aged black, and to three dining chairs.
