Description

A folding chair made from reclaimed cinema seating. The frame is iron tube, bent in one piece to form the back and the rear legs, and it carries a flat pressed metal seat and a flat back rest. Letters are pressed into the metal of both. The paint is green, worn back to bare metal along the tube and round every edge, and the wear falls differently on every chair.

It folds flat, so it can be brought out and put away again. The seat sits 48cm from the floor and measures 35 by 35cm, and open the chair takes up 40 by 46cm on the ground. The frame is powder coated, a harder finish than ordinary paint, which is what makes it suitable for a garden as well as for a garden room or a kitchen diner.

The chairs are iron and every one has had a life before this one. What is left of the original paint stays on, along with the marks and the dents that came with it, so the colour and the wear differ from chair to chair and no two are alike. Ishan also runs to a folding table that goes with them.

Frequently Asked

How high is the seat?

48cm from the floor, and the seat itself is 35 by 35cm.

Does it fold?

Yes, flat.

Can it be used outside?

Yes. The frames are powder coated, which is harder than conventional paint and makes them suitable for the garden. They should be covered over the winter months.

Will every chair look the same?

No. Every chair was reclaimed, so the paint left on it, the wear and the lettering are different on each one.

Is it sold singly?

Yes. This is one chair.
