Description

The Iris is an 84cm circular wall mirror built around a polyurethane frame molded into concentric wave rings, finished in a mid-tone metallic silver. The frame creates a sculptural depth of 6cm from the wall, with each ring casting shadow into the next, giving the piece a three-dimensional presence even in flat daylight.

Designed for hallways, living rooms and bedrooms where wall space allows a larger decorative mirror, the Iris works as both a functional mirror and a focal point. The 84cm diameter suits walls above console tables, sideboards or mantels, and the circular format softens angular furniture layouts. At 7.4kg the mirror needs secure wall fixings into masonry or timber studs rather than plasterboard alone.

The polyurethane frame is lighter than carved wood or metal, making the fitting easier to hang and reposition than a solid timber equivalent of the same size. The silver finish has a brushed metallic sheen that sits between polished chrome and pewter, pairing comfortably with both warm brass accents and cooler grey palettes. The mirror glass itself is beveled at the inner edge where it meets the frame, adding a subtle reflective edge detail.

Frequently Asked

What wall fixings are needed?

At 7.4kg the Iris requires fixings into solid masonry or timber studs. Standard plasterboard fixings will not support the weight safely. Use two heavy-duty wall anchors or screws into studs, positioned to align with the hanging points on the back of the frame.

What's the difference between polyurethane and wood frames?

Polyurethane is lighter than solid wood, making the mirror easier to hang and less prone to warping in humid environments like bathrooms. The material takes molded detail cleanly, allowing the concentric wave pattern to be consistent across the entire frame. It does not have the grain variation of natural wood.

Is the silver finish reflective or matte?

The silver finish has a brushed metallic sheen — not as reflective as polished chrome, but not fully matte. It catches light without creating hard reflections, sitting visually between pewter and brushed nickel.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The polyurethane frame tolerates humidity better than solid wood, but the mirror glass itself has no specific moisture-resistant backing. If used in a bathroom, ensure adequate ventilation to prevent condensation buildup on the glass over time.
