Description

The Knightsbridge WSGULED is a 100mm square recessed ground light cut from 304 stainless steel with a clear toughened glass diffuser and a flush 5mm surface projection. The fitting carries an IP67 ingress protection rating, meaning it is sealed against dust and can withstand temporary immersion in water up to 1m depth, making it suitable for driveways, patios, pathways and garden borders that flood during heavy rain.

Designed for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic, the light is rated for a maximum weight loading of 1000kg at low speed (5mph), which covers typical driveway use by cars and light vans. The 133mm recess depth requires a cut-out of 92mm square, with the fitting sitting below finished paving, tarmac or gravel. Two 20mm compression glands on the body allow loop-in-loop-out wiring, so multiple ground lights can be daisy-chained from a single supply run without needing junction boxes.

The fitting accepts a single GU10 LED lamp up to 7W (sold separately). Dimming capability depends on the specific GU10 bulb used — not all GU10 LEDs are dimmable, so check bulb specifications before pairing with a dimmer circuit. The brushed stainless steel finish resists corrosion in coastal and high-moisture environments, and the square profile offers a more architectural appearance than circular alternatives for modern, geometric paving layouts.

The fitting requires a 133mm recess depth below the finished surface level, plus additional depth below that for the compression glands and cable routing. In practice, a 200mm excavation is typical, with the base of the fitting sitting on compacted hardcore or a concrete pad.

Can it be driven over by cars?

Yes. The fitting is rated for loads up to 1000kg at low speed (5mph), which covers typical domestic vehicle use on driveways. Avoid high-speed or sudden-braking traffic directly over the light.

Does it come with a GU10 bulb?

No. The fitting accepts a GU10 LED lamp up to 7W (sold separately). Most users pair it with a 5-7W warm white (2700K-3000K) GU10 LED for path marking or ambient wash lighting.

Is it safe in heavy rain or puddles?

Yes. The IP67 rating means the fitting is sealed against dust and can withstand temporary immersion in water up to 1m depth. Standing water, heavy rain and puddles do not compromise the seal or the internal wiring.
