Description

The Knightsbridge OP9E is a 2-gang outdoor enclosure rated to IP66 and IK06, built from black polycarbonate with a smoked transparent hinged lid. The enclosure houses two standard UK accessory modules (Knightsbridge 7mm Curved Edge, Modular, or Grid systems) and provides multiple 20mm cable entry points on the base and sides for flexible wiring runs.

Designed for outdoor switch, socket and control installations where weather protection is required, the enclosure suits garden lighting control points, outdoor socket positions on patios and decking, and power distribution for gates, pumps and security equipment. The IP66 rating protects against water jets and dust ingress, while the IK06 impact rating handles typical outdoor knocks from garden equipment and debris. The transparent lid allows internal components to be identified without opening, and the large latch can be operated while wearing work gloves.

The polycarbonate body resists UV degradation and remains structurally sound through temperature cycles between -25°C and +60°C. Internal cable channels are wider than standard indoor back boxes, accommodating over-moulded plugs and strain-relief boots typical of outdoor-rated cables. The lid stays open when required, allowing both hands to be used during wiring. Dimensions are 170.7mm wide, 158.7mm tall and 92.7mm deep, giving clearance for most standard accessory combinations without rear contact with the wiring.
