Description

This cone lamp shade belongs to the Intrack system: a wide, shallow cone that fits onto an Intrack track spotlight and turns a plain spot into a soft-edged decorative pendant. It is 8cm tall and 20cm across, so it gives the light a broad, low silhouette without adding bulk overhead. We offer it in eight shades: Olive Grey, Pebble Grey, Terracotta, Antique Brass, White, Ebony Black, Grey Blue and Sand Yellow. The shade gives no light of its own; it dresses the spotlight it sits on and directs that light downwards beneath its generous brim.

It needs two parts, each sold separately. The first is an Intrack track spotlight, the optical set the shade fits onto, which produces the light. The second is the Intrack track it hangs from, which holds each spotlight and its shade in position overhead. Together the three suit a dining table, a living room, a hallway or a study, anywhere a row of pendants reads better than a run of bare spots. Pick one colour along the whole track for a calm, ordered line, or mix two or three: Terracotta and Sand Yellow bring warmth, Pebble Grey and White stay quiet against pale walls, and Antique Brass or Ebony Black give a darker, richer note.

Because it is a part of a system rather than a complete light, plan the run first: decide where the track goes, how many spotlights it carries and which of them wear a shade, then choose a colour for each. The shade adds width rather than drop, at 8cm tall, so it stays compact on the spotlight it fits. The Intrack track and its spotlights are system fittings, for a qualified electrician to install. Once they are in place, the shade completes the look. The Intrack spotlight in our photographs is not included. Our photographs show the olive grey version.
