Description

The Indo is a single-light wall light built around an aged iron oval bracket supporting an off-white cotton drum shade with a single E27 bulb fitting. The iron bracket forms a complete oval loop that mounts flush to the wall and projects 140mm to support the shade, which measures 273mm wide and 375mm high overall.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways and living rooms where side lighting is needed without a table footprint, the Indo works as a bedside reading light when mounted 900-1200mm above mattress height, or as hallway accent lighting in pairs down a corridor. The cotton shade diffuses light in all directions rather than directing it downward, so the fitting provides ambient rather than task light. The E27 socket accepts any standard screw bulb up to 60W (sold separately).

The aged iron finish on the bracket has a textured, hand-forged appearance with tonal variation across the metal surface, giving each fitting a slightly different patina. The off-white cotton shade softens the industrial edge of the iron and provides a neutral backdrop that pairs with both warm and cool wall colours. The 140mm projection keeps the shade clear of typical architrave depths and door frames when mounted beside a doorway.

The Indo takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for bedroom or hallway use.

Can it be used as a bedside reading light?

The cotton shade diffuses light in all directions rather than directing it, so it provides ambient room light rather than focused task light. For bedside reading, a directional fitting or desk lamp may be more suitable.

What height should it be mounted?

For bedside use, mount the centre of the fitting 900-1200mm above mattress height. For hallway use, 1500-1700mm from floor level provides good ambient coverage without glare at eye level.

How is the shade cleaned?

The off-white cotton shade can be dusted with a soft brush or lint roller. For deeper cleaning, remove the shade and hand-wash gently in cold water with mild detergent, then air-dry fully before refitting.
