Description

The Imber LED CW is a compact recessed LED spotlight running on 1W at 12V DC and producing 40 lumens of crisp 6500K daylight light. With a wide 105 degree beam it casts a soft, even wash rather than a tight pool, so it works as a marker and accent point rather than a primary source. American buyers shopping for a low-voltage recessed spotlight of this size will recognise it as a miniature recessed fitting, the kind dropped into a soffit or step. Its round form measures just Ø30 by 16.3mm, making it one of the smallest points of light in the Imber range.

Because it carries an IP65 rating, the Imber suits exposed outdoor and wet positions as readily as sheltered ones, including soffits, porch ceilings, decking edges and garden steps. The wide 105 degree spread and modest 40 lumen output mean it is best used in clusters to mark a path, edge or threshold, with the throw covering a short, soft circle directly beneath each fitting rather than lighting a whole area. Several spaced along a run give a guiding line of light, and the cool daylight tone keeps the effect clean and contemporary against stone, timber or render. Recessed into a ceiling or soffit it sits almost flush, drawing the eye to what it lights rather than to itself.

Built from aluminium alloy with an aluminium finish, the Imber is made to recess into a ceiling and shrug off weather thanks to its IP65 sealing. It runs from a 12V DC supply, so a suitable low-voltage transformer is needed to drive it, and it is not dimmable. The fixed 6500K colour temperature, Ra 80 colour rendering and rated 30,000 hour lifespan suit it to long-term outdoor marking duties. At just 14g it is straightforward to set into position. The Imber range includes warm white variants alongside this daylight model for matching schemes across a project.

Frequently Asked

Can the Imber be used outdoors or in wet locations?

Yes. It carries an IP65 rating, which means it is weatherproof and suitable for exposed outdoor and wet positions. That makes it well suited to soffits, porch ceilings, decking edges and garden steps.

Does it need a transformer?

Yes. The Imber runs on 12V DC, so it must be powered through a suitable low-voltage transformer or driver rather than wired directly to mains. Size the transformer to the total wattage of all the spotlights on the circuit.

What beam angle does it have?

It has a wide 105 degree beam, so it casts a soft, even spread of light rather than a tight, focused spot. This makes it best suited to marking edges, paths and thresholds, ideally used in groups along a run.

How do I clean it?

Wipe the lens with a soft, damp cloth once the fitting is switched off and cool, avoiding abrasive cleaners that could mar the surface. Keeping the lens clear of grime and debris helps maintain the full 40 lumen output, especially outdoors where dirt builds up faster.
