Description

A narrow console table 125cm long, 76cm high and 38cm deep, built from reclaimed wood. The top is a thick plank that overhangs the legs at both ends, with the saw texture, the splits and the old worn surface left in it. Four square posts carry it, set in from the ends, and between them a pair of horizontal rails runs the length at about a third of the way down. Short stretchers join the front post to the back post at each end, low to the floor.

At 125cm long and only 38cm deep it takes a narrow strip of hallway or sits under a window without pushing into the room, and at 76cm it stands at ordinary table height. There is no drawer and no lower shelf, so anything kept under it stands on the floor.

The wood is reclaimed from the side panels of Indian trucks, which is where the weathering, the knots and the splits come from and why no two tables carry the same surface. Each one is carved and assembled by hand. It is made for indoor use.
