Description
A console table 120cm long, 38cm deep and 84cm tall, made from reclaimed wood on four square legs. Three drawers sit in a row under the top, each with a small dark iron pull on two posts, and the drawer fronts are laid up from short boards set at opposing angles so that each one carries a chevron. A full width shelf runs between the legs close to the floor. The timber is pale and weathered, grey where the old surface has survived, and the saw marks, fixing holes, splits and knots are all left in it.
At 120cm long and 38cm deep it stands against a hall wall without narrowing the passage, and at 84cm the top sits higher than a dining table. The three drawers take keys, post and gloves. The lower shelf takes what will not go in them, with room for two baskets side by side beneath it.
The wood is reclaimed. It began as panelling on the outside of Indian lorries and has been cut down and rebuilt, which is why the tone shifts from board to board and why the old fixing holes and splits are still there. Each piece is hand carved and then assembled by hand, so no two console tables come out alike. Ibo runs to sideboards, cabinets, shelves, benches and side tables, and to console tables with one drawer and with four.

Frequently Asked
How big is it?
120cm long, 38cm deep and 84cm tall.
How many drawers does it have?
Three, in a row under the top.
Is there a shelf?
Yes. A full width shelf runs between the legs below the drawers.
Where does the wood come from?
Reclaimed timber that spent a former life as panelling on the outside of an Indian lorry.
Will every table look the same?
Not exactly. The tone of the wood, the knots and the splits vary from piece to piece, so no two are the same.
How do I look after it?
Wipe the surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth. Mild soap and water can be used, but not much water, which may damage the finish. Always wipe with the grain and take extra care over the heavily textured areas, which can splinter. Use coasters and mats, deal with spills at once, and do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Indoor use only.
