Description

This is a wall basket made in the shape of a hot air balloon, woven from braided rattan over a slim iron frame. The balloon is woven in bands, solid strips of rattan alternating with open lattice sections through which the fine iron rods of the frame show, and those rods carry on beneath it to a small woven basket hanging where the gondola of a real balloon would be. It is 62cm tall, 23cm long and 13cm wide and weighs 0.4KG, so it is a light, slender piece for the wall rather than a bulky storage unit.

The little basket at the bottom is the useful part. It is just the size for a small soft toy, which makes this a lovely piece for a nursery or a child's bedroom wall, where a favourite companion can sit on display, off the floor and out of the toy box.
