Hosmane Wooden Linear Pendant Light - Black

The Hosmane is a linear pendant light built around a long wooden beam finished in black, with a line of bare lamp holders hanging from black cords that wrap around the timber. The canopy and lamp holders are black steel, so the whole fitting reads as one dark, graphic shape against a pale ceiling. It is 100cm long, 10cm wide and 110cm high overall. Each holder takes an E27 screw-in bulb, and bulbs are not included, which leaves the choice of shape and warmth of light entirely yours. It is rated IP20, so it belongs indoors in a dry room.

We think it is happiest hung over a long dining table, where the beam follows the length of the table and spreads light from end to end rather than leaving a single bright spot in the middle. It works just as well in a kitchen dining space or an open-plan room with an industrial or farmhouse feel, where bare bulbs and dark timber sit comfortably beside brick, concrete or wood. Because the bulbs are on show, they become part of the design: clear filament globes give a crisp sparkle, while amber glass gives a softer, warmer glow over supper.

The body is steel and the beam is wood, both in black, and the whole fitting weighs 3.11KG, so it feels substantial for its length. It runs on 220-240V mains and has no switch of its own: you turn it on and off at the wall, like any ceiling light. Can the Hosmane pendant go in a bathroom or outdoors?
