Description

The Hosmane floor lamp pairs black steel with natural wood for an industrial look. A slim black pole rises from a round base 25cm in diameter. Near the top, two blocks of pale wood sit at different heights, each wrapped in loops of black flex. From each block hangs a geometric wire cage shade, open enough to leave the bulb in plain view. It stands 166.5cm tall, 40cm long and 25cm wide, so it fits a corner or the end of a sofa without crowding the room. Each shade takes an E27 bulb, and the IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

We would set it beside an armchair or at the end of a sofa, where the staggered shades spread light at two heights instead of a single bright spot. The mix of black metal and pale timber sits happily with leather, plants and plain painted walls, and it suits loft-style flats and country cottages alike. Because it stands on the floor, it brings light to a room where a ceiling point is in the wrong place. It works as well in a reading corner, a bedroom or a home office. The open cages put the bulb on show, so the bulb you choose sets the mood, and a warm filament style suits the look.
