The Holmes is a five light spotlight bar: a 100cm horizontal bar carrying five cylindrical spot heads, hung from the ceiling on two straps. It is made of brass, steel and leather, and we offer it in six finishes: Matt Black, Matt Black & Antique Brass, Matt Black & Antique Silver, Matt Black & Natural Brass, Matt Black & Polished Brass and Matt Black & Satin Brass. Overall it measures 118.7cm tall, 100cm long and 27.4cm wide. Bulbs are sold separately: it takes five GU10 bulbs, up to 5W per bulb, so you fit your own in each head.

We think it belongs in a kitchen, hung over a table or an island, where a long surface wants light along its whole length rather than one bright spot in the middle. Its five heads are spaced along a metre of bar, so it suits the long, narrow shapes that a single pendant struggles to cover. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is an indoor fitting. The finishes give you a choice of mood: Matt Black keeps everything quiet and graphic, while the brass and silver pairings bring a touch of warmth or shine to a darker kitchen scheme.

Every light is made to order for you in Ireland, and the black in every finish is Matt Black RAL 9005. As a mains fitting it is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered. One practical point before you order: at 118.7cm tall overall, it needs a ceiling with room to spare above the table or island, so measure the height you have and plan where it will hang.
