Description

The Hilow pendant light is a frame of straight LED bars: three long bars run lengthways and three shorter bars cross them, so the light draws a loose, open grid in the air. The light source is integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and a black diffuser runs along the lit bars. It gives 2118lm from 80W with a CRI of 90, which keeps food, fabric and skin tones looking true. The frame is 113cm wide and 82cm high, it hangs on a drop of up to 500cm, and its slim driver housing is 5.5cm across and 35.5cm tall.

We see it over a dining table, where its width follows the length of the table and the grid of light reads clearly from every chair. It also suits a living room, above a coffee table or a favourite reading corner. The long drop lets it hang low beneath a tall ceiling or sit closer to a lower one. It comes in White, Brushed Champagne, Matt Black, Brushed Bronze, Brushed Brass and Brushed Titanium, so it can sit with pale walls, dark joinery or warm metal fittings in the room. It also comes in 2700K or 3000K: 2700K is the warmer white for long evenings, while 3000K is a touch crisper for a table that doubles as a desk.

It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician. It dims through DALI or push control, so settle which one suits your home before it goes up: DALI links into a lighting control system, while push dimming works from a compatible push switch. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only. Because the LED is built in, it is ready to light as soon as it is wired. Plan the drop with your electrician so the lowest bar sits at a comfortable height above the table. Our photographs show the white version.
