Description
This silverplated money box is shaped like a little helicopter, with a rounded cabin, a main rotor on top, a tail rotor at the back and a pair of landing skids underneath. The body is a metal alloy with a real silverplated finish, polished to a bright silver shine that catches the light on a nursery shelf. Dotted rivet detailing outlines the wide cockpit window, the cabin door with its small handle and the two side windows. This detail sets off the smooth polished surface around it. It stands 11cm high, 14cm wide and 7cm deep, which suits a shelf or windowsill.
We think it makes a thoughtful christening gift and a lovely keepsake for a baby or toddler up to three years old. It sits happily in the nursery on a chest of drawers, a bookshelf or a dresser, where it can collect the first coins given by grandparents, godparents and visitors. It is made to be kept rather than played with, so it suits a high shelf out of reach of small hands. Later it can move to a grown child's bedroom as a reminder of their early days. The slot in the top of the cabin takes coins, so saving can start from the very first gift.
Its real silverplated finish sits over a metal alloy body. The helicopter stands freely on its skids, so it needs no wall fixing and sits on any flat surface. To keep the shine bright, dust it with a soft dry cloth and handle it with clean, dry hands. Silverplate can dull over time, and a gentle rub with a soft cloth made for silver will bring it back. For a christening, we like to drop a first coin inside and add a card with the date. That way it arrives with its first saving and a story to go with it.

Frequently Asked
How big is the helicopter money box?
It stands 11cm high and measures 14cm wide and 7cm deep. That is a neat size for a nursery shelf, a dresser or a windowsill.
What is the money box made of?
It has a metal alloy body with a real silverplated finish. The finish is polished to a bright silver shine, with dotted rivet detail around the windows and the cabin door.
Where do the coins go in?
There is a coin slot in the top of the cabin, just beside the main rotor. Coins can be dropped straight in from the first gift onwards.
Is it a good christening gift?
Yes. We think it makes a thoughtful christening gift and a keepsake for a baby or toddler up to three years old. It is ready to hold their very first coins.
Does it need to be fixed to a wall?
No. It stands freely on its landing skids, so it sits on any flat shelf, chest of drawers or windowsill without any fixings.
How do I look after the silverplated finish?
Dust it with a soft dry cloth and handle it with clean, dry hands. If the plating dulls over time, a gentle rub with a soft cloth made for silver will bring back the shine.
