Description

This glazed ceramic salt and pepper set pairs a little hedgehog with a plump pumpkin, both finished in soft white. The hedgehog sits upright with its front paws raised and a small black nose, its textured spines picked out in gentle brown streaks. Beside it, the pumpkin has deep rounded ribs, a fine speckle across its white glaze and a darker brown stalk on top. Each piece has small holes on top for shaking, so one holds salt and the other pepper, whichever way round you prefer. The set measures 8cm high, 6cm wide and 6cm deep, so it sits neatly beside a plate without crowding the table.

We think it belongs wherever salt and pepper live day to day: on the kitchen table, beside the hob or on a breakfast tray. Plain white sits easily beside most plates and bowls, and the warm brown of the hedgehog's spines adds a little colour without clashing.
