Description

These are two seagrass baskets sold together as a set of 2, one 38cm across and 38cm tall and the other 47cm across and 44cm tall. Both are woven in 100% seagrass, with a black pattern that runs round the body in fine zigzag stripes, broken by two bands of small cross motifs. A plain woven band finishes each rim, and the sides are softly rounded, curving in towards the base, so the pair reads as relaxed and soft rather than boxy. They are proper storage baskets, sized for the floor rather than a shelf.

The larger basket takes a folded throw, a spare blanket or a pile of cushions beside the sofa, and the smaller one suits magazines, toys or slippers by the bed or the front door. Because they come as two different sizes, they look good side by side in the corner of a living room, or split between a bedroom and a hallway. In a nursery or playroom the pair makes tidying away soft toys quick at the end of the day.
