Description
The Hebden cushion is made from 100% cotton and turns two faces to the room. One side carries a quilted, softly padded ground in a muted sage green, worked in a grid of stitched squares; the other reverses to a green and cream stripe. It measures 55cm square, the generous size that sits behind a smaller scatter cushion or reads happily on its own against a headboard. Around the whole edge runs a narrow striped border, so the two sides are joined by a trim rather than a plain seam.
This is a bedroom cushion first and foremost, at home layered against pillows and a duvet, but the square format and the calm colour make it just as easy on a sofa or a reading chair. Two usable faces mean you can flip it from the quieter quilted side to the busier stripe depending on the mood of the room, and it sits well with natural linens, warm neutrals and other soft greens. The washed handle keeps it feeling relaxed rather than formal.
Being pure cotton, it is breathable and takes a wash kindly, softening further with use rather than stiffening. The reverse is a percale weave, which is a plain, tightly woven cotton with a crisp, smooth feel that stands up to regular laundering. A zip closure lets you take the cover off the pad for cleaning and put it back without a struggle, which matters on a piece that lives at pillow height and sees daily handling. It belongs to our wider Hebden range of striped cotton bedding, so it can be picked up alongside matching pieces.

Frequently Asked
Is the cushion the same on both sides?
No. One side is a quilted plain green face and the other reverses to a green and cream stripe, so you can turn it to suit the room.
What does the percale reverse feel like?
Percale is a plain, tightly woven cotton with a smooth, crisp handle that wears well and softens gently with repeated washing over time.
Can I remove the cover to wash it?
Yes. There is a zip closure along one edge, so the cover comes off the pad easily for laundering and goes back on without fuss.
How big is it and where does it work best?
It is 55cm square, a generous size that layers well against bed pillows or sits comfortably on a sofa or armchair.
What is the Oxford border?
It is a flat framing edge running around the cushion, here worked in a narrow stripe that joins the two faces and defines the shape.
