Description

Hang a row of pendants from one point on the ceiling and this is the piece that ties them together. The plate is long and slender, 900mm end to end and 100mm across, with a shallow rise so it stays close to the ceiling and reads as a quiet band rather than a fitting in its own right. Four holes run along its length, one for each flex, spaced so the drops fall in an ordered line. The satin nickel finish is soft and low in shine, nearer brushed steel than mirror chrome, and it sits calmly against white paint or a pale plaster tone.

We reach for a plate like this over a long dining table, a kitchen island or a run of worktop, where separate ceiling roses would look scattered and the flexes would never quite line up. It works just as well along a hallway above a console, or in a shop or studio where a row of glass shades needs to read as a single line. This is an indoor accessory for dry rooms, so a kitchen or dining room rather than a bathroom zone or a covered porch. It carries no lamp of its own; the pendants you choose decide the light.

The plate is one continuous piece, with the finish carried over the edges and across the underside, which is the face you actually see from the room. Keeping it looking well is mostly dusting: run a dry duster along the length now and then, and lift fingermarks near the flex holes with a barely damp cloth. Nothing abrasive, and no spray polish.
