Description

A ceiling plate is the quiet part of a pendant run, and this one is a long, slim bar rather than the usual round pan. It measures 700mm end to end, with three openings set along its length so the flexes gather and drop together. The profile is shallow, so it sits close and reads as a neat line above the lights rather than a lump. The satin nickel finish is soft and low in shine, nearer brushed steel than chrome.

We reach for this where pendants need to hang in a row: over a kitchen island, along a dining table, or above a run of bar stools. It suits open-plan rooms where a cluster would look busy and a straight line looks calmer. Because it is non-electrical, it does no switching or connecting of its own; it simply tidies the flexes and finishes the ceiling in the same metal as the lights below. We would pair it with slim glass or metal shades and keep the drops level for the cleanest result.

The finish carries across the visible face and the edges, so the plate looks of a piece from below. To keep it right, take the dust off with a dry duster now and then, use only a barely damp cloth on marks and dry it at once rather than leaving the metal wet; creams and abrasives will dull the sheen.
