Description

The Hartsville is a 568mm diameter five-arm chandelier built on a curved metal frame finished in distressed chalk wash, with turned beachwood accents on the central column and candle cups. Each of the five arms curves outward from a central cage silhouette, carrying an E14 candle bulb holder (bulbs sold separately) and sitting on a small turned beachwood cup detail.

Designed for dining rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Hartsville works equally well in entrance halls and living spaces where a central ceiling light is needed. The minimum drop of 775mm gives the chandelier enough vertical presence to define the space above a dining table or console without overwhelming lower ceilings, while the 1524mm adjustable chain allows installation in taller rooms. The fitting can also convert to semi-flush mounting where chain suspension is not preferred.

The distressed chalk wash finish gives the metal frame a weathered, matte surface that softens the contrast against white or light-painted ceilings, while the natural beachwood accents add warmth without the weight of darker timber. The five-arm configuration provides even spread of light across a 1.5-2m diameter table or 3-4m square room when paired with warm-white LED candle bulbs. Each arm is rated to 40W maximum.

Can it be fitted to low ceilings?

The minimum drop of 775mm means the chandelier sits approximately 775mm below the ceiling rose when fully raised. This works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Below 2.4m the chandelier can be converted to semi-flush mounting, reducing the drop to the fitting height of 648mm.

How is the drop adjusted?

The chain is adjusted during installation by shortening or lengthening the amount of chain between the ceiling rose and the chandelier canopy. Excess chain can be coiled inside the canopy or removed entirely.

Is the chalk wash finish smooth or textured?

The chalk wash is a distressed matte finish applied over the metal frame, giving a weathered surface texture rather than a smooth painted finish. This adds to the farmhouse character of the piece.
