Description

A counter stool with a leather seat and back on a slim iron frame. The back is low and curves round at the sides, and its face is worked into vertical ribs that run from the seat up to the top edge. The leather is buffalo, dyed an aged tan that lightens to honey where the hide has worn and deepens to brown along the seams. The frame is four tapered iron legs that splay outward, tied by rails on three sides and a flat footrest across the front.

The seat sits 70cm from the floor, which is counter height, and the stool takes up 45cm by 52cm. It belongs at a kitchen island or a high table, and the footrest takes the weight of a leg at that height. Drawn up to an island, the low back rises just above the worktop and the stool still pushes in underneath. The frame holds up to 100kg.

The leather is buffalo, chosen for its strength, and it takes on a patina with use. Each stool is finished by hand and the panels are held by hand stitched detailing. The frame is iron. The Harsha range also holds a dining chair in the same leather, and the counter stool is made in this aged tan and in a chocolate brown.

How do I look after it?

Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources, which cause fading, drying and cracking, and never use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
