Description

This porcelain mug carries a Hogsmeade Station scene from the world of Harry Potter, with the steam train drawn in at the platform beneath a billowing white cloud. The front reads Hogsmeade Station in tall, ornate lettering, set among gold flourishes and small gold stars on a deep brown ground. Turn it round and the back reads A Magical Journey, with London to Hogwarts and Hogwarts Express beneath and a little 9¾ badge beside the words. The body has a matt finish, while the rim and the curved, scrolled handle are a bright gold, and inside, against the cream interior, there is one more surprise: a Platform 9¾ stamp marked Departure 11am at the bottom.

It holds 340ml, a generous measure for a morning tea, a strong coffee or a hot chocolate on a slow afternoon. At 9.8cm tall, 12.5cm wide and 8cm deep, it sits neatly on a desk, a bedside table or the kitchen side, and it looks just as at home on a shelf among favourite books as it does in use.
