Description

The Halvery is a swan neck wall light in brass and glass. A round backplate fixes to the wall, a curved arm reaches out from it, and a wide cone shade hangs from the end of the arm, with room for a single bulb beneath. The shade turns the light down onto the wall and the space beneath it. It is 32cm tall and 37.5cm wide, and it projects 46cm from the wall, so give it a stretch of wall with room in front. It comes in Polished Brass, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Natural Brass, Satin Brass, Matt Black or White, and each finish comes with a choice of Clear or Opal glass.

It is rated IP65, so it can go in a bathroom as well as a bedroom, a dining room or a living room. A pair either side of a mirror or a bed gives balanced light at a useful height, and one on each side of a sideboard frames a dining room wall. The brass finishes bring a warm gleam to a living room, and Antique Silver suits a cooler, greyer scheme. The Matt Black and White versions are painted to RAL 9005 and RAL 9010, with a white inner shade on both.

Every Halvery is made to order in Ireland, in brass and glass, and finished in the version you choose. It comes without a bulb: bulbs are sold separately, and it takes one E27 bulb, up to 6.5W per bulb (LED). It is wired in to the mains, so it is for a qualified electrician to install. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase, and bulbs are not covered. One practical point before you order: with 46cm of projection, check that a door, a cabinet or a passing shoulder will clear the shade where you plan to fit it.
