Description

The Knightsbridge LH03 is a GU10 lampholder assembly with an integrated metal mounting bridge and a separate earth terminal. The GU10 socket accepts standard twist-lock GU10 bulbs up to 50W, and the metal bridge provides a rigid fixing point for mounting the lampholder into downlight housings, ceiling voids or pendant fittings during installation.

Designed for residential and commercial downlight installations where the lampholder needs to be fixed to a metal frame, ceiling bracket or recessed housing before the ceiling is closed up. The separate earth terminal allows a dedicated earth connection independent of the lampholder body, meeting Class I wiring requirements for metal fittings. The bridge design distributes the weight of the bulb across two fixing points rather than relying on a single central screw.

The lampholder body is made from heat-resistant thermoplastic rated to withstand the operating temperatures of halogen and LED GU10 bulbs. The metal bridge is zinc-plated steel with pre-drilled fixing holes, allowing it to be screwed or bolted to ceiling joists, metal downlight cans or timber battens. The white connector block visible in the product carries the supply cable into the lampholder, with push-fit terminals for live, neutral and earth connections.

What bulb type does this lampholder accept?

The LH03 accepts standard GU10 twist-lock bulbs up to 50W. This includes halogen GU10s and LED GU10s, which are sold separately. Most modern LED GU10 bulbs draw between 3W and 7W, well within the 50W rating.

What is the metal bridge used for?

The metal bridge provides two fixing points for mounting the lampholder to ceiling joists, metal downlight housings or timber battens. The pre-drilled holes accept screws or bolts, allowing the lampholder to be fixed securely before the ceiling is closed up.

Why does it have a separate earth terminal?
