Description

The Grutti is a compact LED outdoor wall light: a flat, rectangular body with softly rounded ends and a clear plastic diffuser running along both the top and bottom edges, so it washes light upwards and downwards across the wall. The body is aluminium in a fine-textured anthracite finish, a deep charcoal grey that suits modern brick, render and stone alike. Aluminium is light and does not rust, which matters for a fitting that spends its life outside. It is 17.5cm long and 9cm high, and stands 5cm out from the wall. The light source is an integrated LED giving 1,260 lumens. With an IP65 rating it is dust-tight and protected against jets of water, so it lives outdoors on a house wall through every season.

Mount one either side of a front door, along a garden wall, beside a patio or above a garage door, where the twin beams pick out the texture of the wall itself. Because it projects so little, it sits neatly beside a path or in a narrow side passage where a bulkier lantern would get in the way. Its colour temperature spans 3000K, 4000K and 6500K: warm white for a relaxed evening on the terrace, neutral white for a porch, and cool daylight for a driveway where you want to see clearly.

There is no switch on the light itself; it is switched at the wall, so it runs from your wall switch like any other mains light. It works on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. The LED and driver are not replaceable, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. It weighs 0.35KG and carries an energy class of F. Because some of the light falls upwards, leave a little clear wall above it so the glow has room to spread.
