Description
The Grottazzolina is an LED outdoor wall light with a crisp L-shaped profile: a ribbed upright body that sits flat against the wall and a squared head that reaches forward over a downward-facing opal diffuser. The body is aluminium in a textured black, and the diffuser is opal plastic, which softens the integrated LEDs into an even glow rather than a harsh point of light. It is 17.5cm tall, 13.5cm wide and 11cm long, and weighs 0.6KG. Its IP65 rating settles the main question: it is sealed against dust and protected from jets of water, so it lives outdoors on a house wall through rain and snow.
Because the light is thrown downwards, it washes the wall beneath it in a soft fan of light, which shows off the texture of render or brick and marks out the way to a door. That makes it a natural choice beside a front or back door, along a garden wall, by a side passage or either side of patio doors. We like them in pairs, giving a matched spread of light on both sides of an entrance. The 1,400 lumens give plenty of brightness to find a keyhole or a step after dark, and at 3000K the light is a warm white that sits comfortably alongside planting and stone.
The LEDs are built into the light, so there is no bulb to buy or replace. There is no switch on the fitting itself: it is switched at the wall, so it is controlled by a wall switch just like a ceiling light, and it carries energy class C. As a wired mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available to download. Before ordering, measure the space beside your door: at 13.5cm wide, it fits a narrow stretch of wall between a frame and a corner.

Frequently Asked
Can this wall light go outdoors?
Yes. It is rated IP65, so it is sealed against dust and protected from jets of water, which means it lives outdoors on a house wall or garden wall through rain and snow.
How bright is the Grottazzolina?
It gives 1,400 lumens from integrated LEDs at a colour temperature of 3000K, a warm white that lights a doorway or a stretch of garden wall comfortably after dark.
Does it need a bulb?
No. The LEDs are integrated into the light, so there is no bulb to buy or replace, and nothing extra is needed to get it working.
Does it have its own switch?
No. There is no switch on the light itself; it is switched at the wall, so it is controlled by a wall switch in the same way as a ceiling light.
What size is this outdoor wall light?
It is 17.5cm tall, 13.5cm wide and 11cm long, and weighs 0.6KG, so it suits a modest stretch of wall beside a door or window.
Which way does the light shine?
The opal diffuser faces downwards beneath the squared head, so the light washes the wall underneath it in a soft fan and falls towards the ground.
