Description

The Gravity is a 318mm flush ceiling light with a polished chrome double-ring frame and a white opal etched glass diffuser. Two E27 bulbs (sold separately) sit inside the glass bowl, which diffuses the light evenly across the ceiling plane without visible glare. The fitting projects 108mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant would hang too low.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, bathrooms (zone 3 and outside zones), and living spaces where ceiling height limits the use of pendants or semi-flush fittings, the Gravity provides ambient rather than task lighting. The 318mm diameter suits rooms of 8-12m² floor area as a primary light source, or works as supplementary ceiling light in larger open-plan spaces. The polished chrome finish pairs with chrome taps, handles and radiators in bathrooms, and with cooler-toned contemporary interiors elsewhere.

The white opal etched glass is a solid opaque glass diffuser rather than a thin painted coating, so it distributes light uniformly without hot spots or visible bulb filaments when lit. The double chrome ring creates a stepped profile that adds depth to the fitting when viewed from below. The fixture weighs approximately 1.2kg and fixes to a standard UK ceiling rose with three screws through the backplate.

What bulbs does it take?

The Gravity takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for general room lighting.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 108mm projection from the ceiling makes it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where pendants or deeper semi-flush fittings would hang too low or feel intrusive.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The Gravity carries no IP rating in the specification provided, so it is suitable for bathroom zones 3 and outside zones only (areas more than 2.4m from a bath, shower or basin). Confirm the IP rating directly with Feiss if installing closer to water sources.

How is the glass cleaned?

The white opal glass diffuser can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth. Switch off the mains power first, allow bulbs to cool, and remove the glass bowl by unscrewing the retaining collar or clips (check the fitting instructions for the exact removal method on this model).
