Description

This cheerful letter plaque spells out GRAN in tall cut-out capitals, rising from a striped block made of MDF in cream and warm orange. Bands of orange alternate with cream scalloped stripes dotted with small grey flowers, and a cream panel across the centre carries the words 'Life is sweeter with someone like you in it. Thank you for being such a gift to those around you', with a little bee tucked into the corner. It measures 8.5cm tall, 16.2cm wide and 2cm deep, a compact size that fits a narrow ledge.

It stands on its flat base and needs no nails or hooks, so it can go straight onto a bookshelf, a mantelpiece, a windowsill or the bedside table where she will see it first thing each morning. The warm orange and cream sit happily in a kitchen, a sitting room or a bedroom, and the soft flower stripes keep it gentle rather than loud. We think it makes a thoughtful gift for a grandmother, whether she is the one who taught you to bake, kept the biscuit tin full or always had time to listen. The words on the front say thank you in a way a card cannot, because it stays out on the shelf long after the envelope has gone.

The block is made of MDF with the printed design across the front and a plain cream back, and the cream letters are finished on both sides, so it looks tidy from any angle on an open shelf. At 2cm deep the base gives it a steady footing on a flat surface. To care for it, dust it with a soft dry cloth and keep it away from water and damp, as you would any MDF piece. For a gift, wrap it with a bunch of her favourite flowers or slip it in beside a handwritten note, and let the words do the rest.

Frequently Asked

How big is the GRAN letter plaque?

It is 8.5cm tall, 16.2cm wide and 2cm deep. That is small enough for a narrow shelf, a windowsill or a bedside table.

What is the plaque made of?

It is made of MDF. The front is printed in cream and warm orange stripes, and the cut-out letters and the back are cream.

Does the plaque stand up or hang on the wall?

It stands on its own flat base, so it needs no nails, hooks or fixings. The plain back has no hanging fitting, so it is made for a shelf or table.

What words are printed on the plaque?

The cut-out letters spell GRAN, and the front panel reads 'Life is sweeter with someone like you in it. Thank you for being such a gift to those around you'.

Is this a good gift for a grandmother?

We think so. It is a thoughtful way to say thank you to a grandmother, and it stays out where she will see it every day.

How do I look after the plaque?

Dust it gently with a soft dry cloth now and then, and keep it away from water and damp, as is good practice for any MDF piece.
