Description

The Gosmelle is a slim, round LED downlight with a black plastic body and a white plastic diffuser, 21.1cm across and just 2.5cm deep, so it sits close against the ceiling rather than hanging from it. The LED is integrated, drawing 11.2W and giving 1,400 lumens, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected from splashing water, and that settles where it can go: a hallway or an entrance, and also a bathroom, where a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone.

Because the colour temperature adjusts from a warm 2700K to a cool 6500K, one light gives you a soft, cosy white for winding down in the evening and a clear, bright white for getting ready in the morning. It is colour-changing too, with full RGB colour, so a hallway can be washed in teal, pink or any shade that suits the moment. The black rim draws a crisp outline against a pale ceiling, and the shallow profile suits anyone who wants smart lighting without the bulk of a pendant.

It is controlled by an app, it is dimmable, and both the white tone and the RGB colour can be adjusted, so one fitting does the work of two. It also works with a remote control, which is sold separately and is not in the box. There is no switch on the light itself, so it is switched at the wall, and it runs on 220-240V mains. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Packed, it weighs 0.54KG, light enough to handle easily from a stepladder.
