Description

The Gosmelle is a square LED downlight that sits recessed into the ceiling, so only a slim white frame and a flat diffuser show in the room. It measures 21.6cm long and 21.6cm wide, with a white steel body and a white plastic shade across the face. The LEDs are integrated, so there is no bulb to buy or replace, and at 17W it gives 2,100 lumens of 4000K light, a crisp, neutral white. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in a dry room.

That much light from a single fitting makes it a sound choice for a hallway, a kitchen, a landing or a home office, anywhere you want clear, even light for getting ready, cooking or working. The square, low-profile face suits a modern ceiling and lines up neatly with cupboards, shelves and straight walls, so the ceiling stays tidy and uncluttered. Fitted in a row along a corridor or over a worktop, several of them give bright, practical light across the whole space. Because the rating is IP20, we would keep it out of bathrooms and away from any outdoor spot.

Because it is wired into the mains, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. The packed weight is 0.594KG.
