Description

The Gosmelle is a round LED downlight with a black trim ring framing a white plastic diffuser, measuring 21.6cm in diameter. The body is black plastic and the LED is integrated, drawing 18.5W and giving out 2,100lm, a generous amount of light for one ceiling fitting. Because the LED is built in, there is no bulb to buy or change. It carries an IP20 rating, so it belongs indoors in dry rooms, and it runs on mains power at 220-240V, 50/60Hz.

Because it sits recessed into the ceiling, the light reads as a clean ring rather than a hanging shape, which suits living rooms, hallways, bedrooms and studies where you want even light without clutter. The black trim gives a crisp outline against a pale ceiling, a look that sits well with modern shelving, warm timber and black details. You choose one of three colour temperatures at the light itself: 2700K for a warm, relaxed evening glow, 4000K for a clear neutral white that suits a desk or a hallway, and 6500K for cool daylight white wherever you need to see detail clearly. It means one downlight can be matched to the mood of each room.

The fitting needs a 20.5cm cut-out and 4cm of recess depth, so it suits ceilings with only a shallow void behind them. There is no switch on the light itself; it is switched at the wall and it is not dimmable, so it always runs at full brightness. It is rated Energy Class E and weighs 0.409KG packed. As a mains light wired into the ceiling, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download, so it is worth checking the cut-out size against your ceiling before work begins.
