Description

The Gosmelle is a slim, round LED downlight that sits on the surface of the ceiling rather than being set into it. It measures 16.6cm across and only 2.5cm deep, with a black plastic body framing a white plastic diffuser. The light source is integrated LED, drawing 7.5W and giving 1,000 lumens, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. It carries an IP44 rating, which means it is protected from splashing water: it can live in a bathroom or a covered spot outdoors as well as in any dry room indoors.

That rating makes a bathroom an obvious home for it, and a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone. The slim profile keeps a ceiling neat and uncluttered in a hallway, a kitchen, a landing or a utility room, and the black rim draws a crisp outline against a white or pale ceiling. Outdoors, it suits a porch or a covered entrance where a low, tidy ceiling light is wanted. You also get three colour temperatures from the one light: 2700K for a warm, relaxing glow in the evening, 4000K for a neutral white that suits a kitchen or a study, and 6500K for a cool, daylight tone that helps whenever you want clear, bright light at a mirror.
