Description

The Gosmelle is a square LED downlight in white, with a white plastic body and a white plastic diffuser held in a frame with softly rounded corners. It is 15cm long, 15cm wide and just 2.5cm high, so it sits close to the ceiling and keeps a neat, low profile. The LED is integrated, drawing 7W and giving 1,100lm, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: dry rooms indoors, and not bathrooms or outdoor spaces.

Compact and shallow, the Gosmelle is one we suggest for places where a larger ceiling light would feel crowded: hallways, landings, walk-in wardrobes, box rooms and home offices, as well as bedrooms and living rooms. The choice of colour temperature is where it earns its keep. At 2700K it gives a warm white for a bedroom or a lounge in the evening, 4000K is a neutral white that works well in a hallway or a study, and 6500K is a cool white for a desk or a craft table where you want to see fine detail. Being able to choose means one downlight can match the other lights in a room, rather than leaving a cool glow beside warm lamps.

Frame and diffuser are both white plastic, and the diffuser sits flush within the frame, so the light reads as an even, glowing square rather than a bright spot. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched from the wall, and as it is not dimmable it belongs on a standard switch rather than a dimmer. It runs on 220-240V mains and has an energy class of E. As a wired-in mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available to download, so they can be read before the job is booked.
