Description

The Gosmelle is a square LED downlight that sits on the ceiling surface, with a black plastic frame around a white plastic diffuser. It measures 15cm long, 15cm wide and only 2.5cm high, so it keeps a slim, tidy profile even on a low ceiling. The LEDs are built into the fitting, drawing 7W and giving 1,100 lumens, so there is no bulb to choose or fit. It is rated IP20, which means it is made for indoor rooms that stay dry, rather than bathrooms or anywhere outdoors.

We think it suits hallways, landings, bedrooms, studies and living rooms, anywhere you want soft, even light from a compact square fitting. The colour temperature is adjustable, with 2700K, 4000K and 6500K available: 2700K gives a warm white for relaxed evenings, 4000K a crisp neutral white for reading or working, and 6500K a bright, daylight white for tasks that need clear detail. That choice means a single downlight can match the mood of the room, or sit comfortably beside the lighting you already have. The black frame gives a sharp, graphic edge against a pale ceiling, which works well in modern and monochrome schemes.

Both the body and the diffuser are plastic, which keeps it easy to handle, at 0.374KG packed. It runs from the mains at 220-240V, 50/60Hz, and it has no switch of its own: it is controlled from the wall switch. Because it is not dimmable, pair it with a standard on/off switch rather than a dimmer. As a light wired into the mains, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download.
