Description

Bookends, 17cm tall, in gold. At 35cm wide it is about the width of a laptop. They are seen end-on, so the profile is what matters. A shape with a clear outline reads from across the room where a detailed one reads only from the chair beside it.

A warm metal finish reflects light yellow rather than white, which is why gold and brass make a room feel warmer at the same brightness. It also reads as softer against warm woods and darker paint, where a cool finish can look stark.

Check the base against your shelf. A felted or rubbered base grips a painted shelf and protects it; a bare metal one will mark a soft timber and slide on a polished one.

Dusting is all it asks for, with a damp cloth on the finish and nothing solvent or abrasive.
