Description

Globo Lago is a frameless wall mirror 122cm high by 69cm wide, cut to a soft organic outline and hung from a single solid oak peg. A notch in the peg holds the glass clear of the wall and stops it sliding, so the whole suspension is one turned piece of timber and a hole. Around the edge runs a facet 2cm wide, ground at an angle so it reads as a bright line following the shape.

The peg is supplied in two finishes, black and natural oak, and which one is fitted changes the character a good deal: the natural reads as part of the timber in a room, the black as a deliberate full stop above the glass. It suits a hallway, a bedroom or a bathroom, where it is rated to go. It hangs in one direction, since the peg sits at the top. At 9kg it is a one person lift and it stands 4.5cm off the wall at the deepest point. The fixing is specific to this mirror rather than a standard screw and plug, so keep the supplied parts together. Other sizes and shapes are made in the same range.

The mirror is a single piece of mirrored glass with a ground facet, hung from solid oak. Clean it with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth, taking the cloth along the facet rather than across it, and dust the peg dry. The peg passes through a slot in the glass itself rather than clamping the edge, and its turned end sits proud of the mirrored face, which is the one mark on an otherwise unbroken surface. Seven year warranty, made in Belgium.
