Description

The Globe is a 3 light bathroom wall light with frosted glass globe shades mounted on a dark chrome and aluminium vertical backplate, controlled by an integrated pull-cord switch. Each of the three G9 bulbs (included) sits inside a frosted glass sphere, diffusing the light evenly across a mirror or vanity area without glare. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes, making the fitting safe for bathroom zones 2 and 3.

Designed for installation above mirrors or alongside vanity cabinets, the Globe measures 360mm high by 120mm wide with a 100mm projection from the wall. The pull-cord switch removes the need for a separate wall switch within reach of wet hands, a practical detail for family bathrooms and en-suites. The vertical layout of the three globes suits taller mirrors and bathroom wall spaces where a horizontal fitting would be too wide.

The dark chrome finish on the frame provides a deeper, more subdued metallic tone than polished chrome, with a satin-like sheen that minimises fingerprints and water spotting. The aluminium construction keeps the weight to 1.8kg despite the three glass shades, allowing the fitting to be mounted on standard plasterboard with cavity fixings. The frosted glass softens the G9 capsule bulbs visually and reduces the contrast between lit and unlit areas on reflective surfaces.

Yes. The Globe carries an IP44 rating, meaning it is protected against water splashes from any direction. It is suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, which covers most mirror and vanity wall positions outside the immediate shower enclosure.

Are the bulbs included?

Yes. Three G9 bulbs are included with the fitting. The maximum wattage per bulb is 40W, giving a combined maximum of 120W. For bathroom use, most users find 3 x 25W or 3 x 33W G9 halogen or LED bulbs provide adequate illumination.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided dimmable G9 bulbs are fitted and the wall circuit is connected to a compatible dimmer switch. The pull-cord is an on/off switch only and does not control dimming — that function requires a separate wall dimmer on the circuit.

What is the projection from the wall?

The fitting projects 100mm from the wall once installed. This allows clearance for the frosted glass globes without interfering with mirror surfaces or vanity units positioned close to the wall.
