Description

The Glistenis is a 20W constant current LED driver delivering 500mA output to connected LED modules, with full dimming compatibility across popular trailing-edge and leading-edge dimmer systems. The driver regulates current rather than voltage, maintaining consistent 500mA output regardless of LED load variations and preventing flicker or colour shift as LEDs warm up during operation.

Designed for recessed downlights, track lighting systems, LED strips and architectural lighting installations where consistent light output matters, the driver fits within ceiling voids, track housings and behind panels where its 120mm length and 51mm height allow integration without expanding enclosure dimensions. The 150mm input and output cable runs terminate at push-fit connectors compatible with standard UK mains wiring and low-voltage LED wiring conventions.

The IP20 housing limits the driver to indoor dry locations only — it cannot be used in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any outdoor application. Thermal protection shuts the unit down if internal temperature exceeds safe operating thresholds, then automatically resets once cooled. Short-circuit protection prevents damage if output wires are accidentally crossed during installation or if a connected LED module fails. The plastic casing remains cool enough to touch during continuous operation at full 20W load.

The Glistenis driver works with most trailing-edge and leading-edge dimmers designed for LED loads. Compatibility varies by dimmer brand and model — test with your specific dimmer before committing to multiple units, or contact us for guidance on known-compatible models.

Can it be used in bathrooms or kitchens?

No. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only. It cannot be installed in bathrooms (any zone), above kitchen sinks, in shower rooms, or any outdoor position. For damp or wet locations an IP44 or IP65 rated driver is required.

What LED modules does it power?

The driver supplies constant 500mA current at up to 20W. It suits any LED module, strip or downlight rated for 500mA constant current operation with a combined wattage up to 20W. Voltage output adjusts automatically to match the LED load.

How is thermal protection triggered?

If airflow around the driver is restricted or ambient temperature exceeds design limits, internal temperature rises and the thermal cutout shuts the unit down. Once cooled, the driver resets automatically. Ensure adequate ventilation around the driver during installation to prevent nuisance tripping.
