Description

The Glintis is a 300mm LED bathroom mirror light with an integrated 9.5W LED producing neutral white 4000K light through an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The cylindrical body is cast aluminium with a matt black powder-coated finish, and the fitting carries an IP44 rating for safe use in bathroom zones 2 and 3 (outside shower enclosures and away from direct water jets).

Designed to sit horizontally above or beside bathroom mirrors, the Glintis provides task lighting for morning routines, makeup application and shaving where colour accuracy and shadow-free illumination matter. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white light that approximates daylight without the cooler blue cast of higher Kelvin ratings. The 300mm length suits mirrors between 400-600mm wide, and the 70mm projection from the wall clears most mirror frames without casting shadows onto the glass.

The powder-coated aluminium body resists corrosion in high-humidity environments, and the sealed construction keeps moisture away from the LED driver. The opal diffuser distributes light evenly along the length of the tube, avoiding the spotting effect visible in some cheaper LED mirror lights where individual diodes are visible through the cover. The non-dimmable LED is rated at 9.5W, equivalent to a traditional 60W halogen mirror light but with significantly lower heat output and longer lifespan.

What bathroom zones is the Glintis rated for?

The IP44 rating makes the Glintis suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 — areas outside the shower enclosure and away from direct water jets. It should not be installed inside a shower cubicle or directly above a bath where it could be splashed by water jets.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000-30,000 hours of use, which equates to around 15-20 years of typical domestic bathroom use at 3-4 hours per day.

What colour temperature is 4000K?

4000K is neutral white — cooler than warm white (2700K-3000K) but warmer than daylight white (5000K-6500K). It provides good colour rendering for tasks like makeup application without the yellow cast of warmer bulbs or the harsh blue-white of cooler ratings.

Can it be fitted vertically?

The fitting is designed for horizontal mounting above or beside a mirror. While the IP44 rating and sealed construction would allow vertical mounting from a technical standpoint, the 300mm length and cylindrical form factor work best when positioned horizontally to distribute light evenly across the mirror width.
