Description

The smaller Giva stands 26.5cm on the same 13cm square base as the large, so the taper is shallower and the shape reads squarer. The four sides are glazed in the same slim frame, one of them hinged as a door with a catch, and the flat top carries a folding loop handle. At 0.75kg it is 200 grams lighter.

Twenty-six and a half centimetres takes a pillar candle with the glass still well above the flame, and because the base stays 13cm for less height it will go under a low shelf that the 32cm will not. The two sizes stand together on a sideboard.

The frame is aluminium and the panels are glass. Every lantern is cut from flat sheet, heated, shaped and welded by hand before the finish is applied, so no two come out identical. A 32cm Giva runs alongside it. The candle is not included.

Frequently Asked

How big is it?

26.5cm tall, on a 13cm square base.

Does it open?

Yes. One side is hinged as a door with a catch.

Is there a larger size?

Yes, 32cm.

Can it go outside?

No. Indoor use only.

How do I look after it?

A soft dry cloth for dust, and a microfibre cloth in a circular motion on the glass. Warm water with a mild dish soap clears wax; dry it straight away and do not soak it. Stand the candle securely and keep the flame away from the glass. It gets hot in use, so let it cool fully before handling it, keep it out of reach of children, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
