Description

The Ginger is a slim floor lamp built around a single upright stem on a compact base, standing 1220mm tall with one adjustable head at the top. The head tilts, so the beam can be aimed straight down over a reading chair or angled across a corner rather than washing the whole room. Lit, it gives a single directed pool of light; unlit, the black powder-coated frame reads as a quiet vertical line beside a sofa or bed.

The head takes one GU10 lamp, which we supply, so it is ready to light as soon as it is plugged in. Because it runs a standard GU10 cap, the tone and beam are yours to set: fit a warm 3000K lamp for a soft reading glow, or a dimmable GU10 on a wall dimmer to bring the level down of an evening. Emission is directional out of the single head, which makes it a task light for a chair-side corner rather than a general room light.

The base and frame are powder-coated metal in black, on a PVC cable with an in-line switch and plug. Rated IP20, it is made for dry indoor rooms, and it arrives ready to stand and plug in with the GU10 bulb included.

What kind of light does the Ginger give?

A single directed pool of light. The one head at the top tilts, so you can aim the GU10 beam down over a reading chair or across a corner rather than lighting the room evenly. The tone depends on the GU10 lamp you run.

Does it come with a bulb?

Yes. It is supplied with one GU10 lamp, so it works the moment it is plugged in. The GU10 cap is replaceable, so you can swap it later to change the brightness, beam angle or colour tone.

Can it be dimmed?

There is no dimmer on the cable, but because it runs a standard GU10 lamp you can dim it by fitting a dimmable GU10 bulb on a compatible wall dimmer.

How big is it and where does it suit?

It stands 1220mm tall on a compact base, with a 220mm footprint. That slim, single-head shape suits a reading corner, the side of a sofa or a bedside, in the black finish.
