Description

The Gelbora is a compact LED outdoor wall light: a neat box of aluminium in an anthracite finish, with louvred openings at the top and bottom that send light both up and down the wall. It is 13.5cm long, 12cm wide and 7.5cm high, small enough to sit tidily beside a door without crowding it. The light source is an integrated LED drawing 6.2W and giving 550lm at 3000K, a warm white that flatters render, stone and timber after dark. With an IP55 rating it is protected from dust and from jets of water, which settles the main question: it can live outdoors on a house wall.

We would fit a pair either side of a front door, along a patio wall or beside a path to the garden, where the beams mark the way and give a plain wall some shape at night. The anthracite grey suits modern render and dark window frames, and it looks just as at home against weathered brick. Because the rating is IP55, we would also suggest it for a bathroom, where a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone. It suits anyone who wants a soft glow around the house in place of a harsh floodlight.

The body is aluminium and the shade is plastic. The LED is integrated and not replaceable, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It is not dimmable and has no switch of its own; it is switched at the wall. As a wired-in mains light running at 220 to 240V, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. It carries energy class F and weighs 0.579KG packed. When you plan where it goes, leave clear wall above and below it so that both beams can spread fully.
