Gaze Large Outdoor Wall Light - White

The Gaze is a large outdoor wall light with a white resin frame moulded in the form of a traditional carriage lantern, housing a single E27 bulb behind a clear methacrylate diffuser. The resin construction is UV-treated to prevent colour fade and resist thermal shock across a -20°C to +60°C temperature range, and the IP55 rating means the fitting can withstand rain jets and dust ingress.

Designed for porches, covered entry points, garage walls and courtyard mounting, the Gaze provides upward and downward light distribution through the glazed sections of the lantern frame. The 450mm projection from the wall places the light source well forward of the mounting surface, casting light across doorsteps, pathways and driveways. The E27 fitting accepts standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W (sold separately), and the fitting is compatible with external dimmer switches where dimmable bulbs are fitted.

The white powder-coated finish on the resin gives a matte surface that resists yellowing and corrosion in coastal or high-humidity environments. The methacrylate diffuser is treated with an anti-yellowing coating to maintain clarity over time rather than turning amber or opaque under UV exposure. The 220mm width and scrolled wall bracket give the fitting a substantial presence that suits period properties, coastal homes and traditional-styled new builds.

What bulb does it take?

The Gaze takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit a warm-white LED bulb between 6-12W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor porch and pathway lighting.

Is it suitable for fully exposed positions?

The IP55 rating means the fitting can withstand rain jets from any direction and is fully protected against dust ingress. It can be mounted on exposed walls, but performance and longevity are better under a porch roof or eaves overhang where direct rainfall is reduced.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you fit a dimmable bulb and pair the fitting with a compatible external dimmer switch. The resin housing and E27 lampholder support dimming — it is the bulb choice that determines whether dimming works in practice.

How is the white finish maintained?

The UV-treated resin resists fading and yellowing without regular maintenance. Wipe the frame and diffuser with a damp cloth as needed to remove dust, pollen or salt deposits in coastal locations. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the powder-coated surface.
