Description

The Garota Hang is a plug-in outdoor pendant light with a low, rounded globe shade in an open brown weave. The shade is 16cm tall and 27cm across, wide and gently flattened, and the weave lets the light through in fine lines so the whole globe glows warmly. Inside sits an integrated LED of 8.4W giving 263 lumens at 2700K, a warm white, with a CRI of 90, so faces, food and planting keep their true colour. Being integrated, it needs no bulb. The structure is finished in Graphite Brown and the shade is Brown.

With its IP66 rating it is made for outdoor use, so it suits a garden, a terrace or a pergola over the table where you eat outside on summer evenings. It sits just as comfortably indoors, hung low over a dining room table or in a corner of the living room that wants a soft pool of warm light. Because it plugs in and comes on a 3.5m cable, it can go wherever a socket is within reach, with nothing to wire in, and you can move it if your plans change. Several hung together at different heights make a relaxed, lantern-like group.

It is made from aluminium, stainless steel, polyethylene and synthetic fibre, materials at home outside, and the IP66 rating means rain is nothing to worry about. It runs at 230V and is a Class I fitting. The driver sits on the cable 40cm from the plug, so that end rests neatly near the socket rather than up by the shade. The design is by Alex Fernández Camps and Gonzalo Milà. Before you order, measure from where you want it to hang to the nearest socket: the 3.5m cable is the reach you have to work with. It comes with a European plug, so you will need a UK adaptor to use it in a UK socket. Outdoors, the plug and the adaptor must sit in a covered, weatherproof outdoor socket.
