Description

The head on this one retracts up into the ceiling and swivels, so you can pull the beam off vertical and aim it at a wall, a worktop or a picture. Seen straight on it reads as a plain circle of matt white with a black interior, which keeps the visible detail quiet. The integrated LED draws 7W and gives a cool white 4000K light with a fairly tight beam, so it lands as a defined pool rather than a broad wash. The driver comes with it, and it is a switched fitting rather than a dimming one.

It suits dry indoor rooms where light needs placing accurately: over a kitchen run, down a hallway, above shelving in a study, or turned onto the wall of a stair. The cool white tone reads crisp and awake, so we tend to put this one in kitchens, utility rooms and home offices rather than in a bedroom. Sized for a 75mm cut-out, it is small enough for tighter ceilings and can be repeated along a run without the ceiling starting to look busy. We would set the spacing evenly and then let the swivel do the aiming afterwards.

The finish is matt rather than polished, so the ring sits back against a painted ceiling instead of catching the eye. For cleaning, switch off at the wall and let it cool, then lift dust from the bezel with a dry cloth and keep anything damp away from the aperture. There is no lamp to change here, since the LED is built in. It carries a three year warranty.
