Description

A small round recessed spotlight with a head that swivels within its housing, so the light can be aimed at a picture, a worktop or a run of shelving rather than straight down. The head sits back into the trim when it is set level, giving a neat, low-profile face at the ceiling line. The finish is matt white with a black interior, which keeps the aperture visually quiet and helps cut glare when you are sitting under it. Its integrated LED draws 7W and gives a warm 3000K light.

We reach for this one where a room needs directional light in a tidy 75mm cut-out: hallways, landings, alcoves, kitchen ends and bedrooms where a fixed beam would land in the wrong place. Because each head aims independently, a line of them can wash a wall or pick out separate points along a worktop. It is not dimmable, so it belongs on a plain on-off switch circuit; where you want levels, we would point you towards a dimmable option instead. The driver comes with it, and the warm tone sits comfortably with painted walls, timber and brass.

The lamp is integrated, so there is nothing to fit and nothing to replace later, and the whole unit is designed for dry interior rooms rather than bathrooms or covered outdoor areas. Keeping it clean is a matter of switching the circuit off and running a dry microfibre cloth around the trim and over the lens; leave solvents and polishes well alone. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same spotlight in all black if you want the aperture to disappear against a darker ceiling, along with cooler and warmer versions of the light and a higher-output size for rooms that need more from each point.
