Description

The Galaxy is an 800mm linear suspension light with an integrated 12W LED module set behind a row of Asfour cut crystals in a polished chrome housing. The LED produces 1128 lumens at 6000K daylight white, casting a cool-toned light that refracts through the crystal facets to create sharp highlights and scattered reflections across the chrome frame.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and breakfast bars, the 800mm length covers a 1.2-1.5m worktop or table with directed downlight while the crystal detailing provides visual interest when viewed from the side. The suspension cables adjust between 190mm and 1600mm, allowing the fitting to be set 700-900mm above the surface depending on ceiling height. The 100mm width keeps the fitting compact enough to avoid crowding narrower islands.

The polished chrome finish reflects ambient light during the day and the 6000K LED output at night, creating a bright, clinical illumination better suited to task lighting than ambient warmth. The Asfour crystals are individually faceted and set along the length of the bar, so the light output combines direct downlight with diffused sparkle. The integrated LED removes the need for bulb replacement and the non-dimmable driver simplifies installation to a standard UK ceiling rose with live, neutral and earth connections.

Is 6000K suitable for dining areas?

6000K produces a cool, clinical daylight white that works well for food preparation and task lighting but may feel stark in dining or living spaces. If a warmer tone is preferred for entertaining, consider a 3000K variant or pair this with ambient lighting at a lower colour temperature.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off and allow the LED to cool. Wipe the chrome frame and crystals gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the fitting or allowing moisture near the LED driver.
