Description
The Freida is a 30cm diameter organza table lampshade in cream, built around a wire frame draped with fine pleated organza fabric. Inside the shade, suspended strands of crystal beads and hexagonal drops catch and refract light from the bulb, adding sparkle without overwhelming the soft diffusion of the outer fabric. The shade is designed to fit standard table lamp bases with E27 or B22 lamp holders, supporting bulbs up to 40W.
Designed for bedside tables, console tables and side tables in living rooms and bedrooms, the Freida adds texture and controlled light distribution to spaces where direct bulb glare would be too harsh. The 19cm height suits lamps between 35-50cm tall, where the shade sits proportionally to the base. The cream organza filters warm-white light into ambient glow, making it suitable for evening reading or low-level background lighting.
The organza is pleated in vertical sections around the frame, giving the shade a ribbed texture when viewed from the side. The internal crystals are visible when the lamp is switched on, but appear as faint lines when off, keeping the shade visually quiet during daylight. The cream tone pairs with brass, bronze, polished nickel and painted ceramic lamp bases across traditional, transitional and contemporary settings.

Frequently Asked
What lamp bases does this shade fit?
The Freida fits standard table lamp bases with E27 or B22 lamp holders. The shade uses a duplex ring fitting, which is the most common UK table lamp shade fitting type. Check your lamp base for compatibility before ordering.
What wattage bulb should be used?
The shade is rated for bulbs up to 40W. Most users pair it with a 6-10W warm-white LED bulb (2700K-3000K) for sufficient light output without overheating the fabric. Avoid halogen bulbs above 25W as they run hotter than LEDs.
Are the crystals inside or outside the shade?
The crystal beads and hexagonal drops are suspended inside the shade, between the lamp holder and the organza fabric. They catch light from the bulb and refract it through the fabric, creating sparkle without being directly visible when the lamp is off.
How is the organza cleaned?
Switch off and allow the bulb to cool fully before cleaning. Use a soft brush or a low-powered vacuum with a brush attachment to remove dust from the pleated surface. Do not use water or cleaning sprays on organza, as it may stain or lose its shape.
